Hi, I live in Inverbervie on the coast of the North East of Scotland. I’m originally from the Glasgow area but moved to Aberdeen in 1988 to study Divinity at the university there. Previously I had done a Geography degree at Glasgow university. Over a period of 2 - 3 years following my 18th birthday I struggled with the belief that for some (very strange) reason, it seemed that God was telling me that He wanted me to work as a minister with the Church of Scotland. I was convinced this must be wrong since I was just a ‘wee lassie’! Anyway, the only ministers I knew were older men. In addition I believed that the Bible teaches that women can’t serve as ministers because it’s against God’s will.
So, in these blogs and vlogs I will be sharing the journey of some of my attempts to learn to listen better; to others, to God and to myself.
My husband Peter and I moved to Bervie in 1997, two years after our marriage at Fetteresso church in Stonehaven. Our children were born here in the early 2000s. I feel very fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the world.
